I'm not getting new email notifications.

Hello all.

Lately I am not getting email notifications on either Gmail or inbox. I will open either app and the new emails are there but I did not receive any notification.

I doing some research it seems to be a relatively widespread problem. Have any of you noticed this? Does anyone know of a fix?

Yes. Wait for Google to fix it.

The problem is on their end.

Settings > Apps > Gmail > Storage > you'll get two buttons clear data and clear Cache.

So I had to go to another building on site this morning where the signal is abysmal. Just checked and had been missing emails. Was with the in laws at Christmas where you live off of WiFi or nothing. Was missing emails then too. Must have something to do with signal.

Doubt it has anything to do with signal. I just opened Gmail on my 6p and received 3 days worth of emails that hadn't synced. It's very annoying. The fact that it's getting close to being a month since people have been having this issue is worrisome to me. Should be a top priority bug to fix since it's such a basic and important feature of any smartphone. Maybe Google just doesn't care about it's users/products.

Just started getting notifications for gmail a few days ago for some reason. I periodically clear the app cache. All good!

I had the same issue. I suspect it occurred when I ran an update on my Samsung S7. After multiple attempts, what finally worked was disabling the email app all together. I then enabled and restarted my phone. Almost immediately, I started receiving notifications. Hope this helps!
