I'm stuck on the home screen of my Android phone because there's no keyboard

How do I fix this issue? I tried resetting my phone countless times and still no keyboard. Also, my Android phone has a speaker at the bottom, so the home button is next to the volume buttons located on the side of my device. I tried finger scanning on the back of my phone but it keeps asking me for a password even though I can't type one.
