I wanted to see what possible difference changing some of the developer options would make to performance. So I disabled transitions and animations, and force closed all activities on app exit a few nights ago, and went to bed.

Woke up the next morning and found my G3 running like crap. The homescreen and drawer were sluggish, the notification widget was redrawing every time I returned to the homescreen from an app, and everything was just slow. Even switching to Nova wasn't helping.

"What the heck?" I thought. Has my phone finally succumbed to the dreaded lag?! I determined I'd have to return it before my trial period expired after all, when it hit me.... Back to developer options to undo everything I'd done in my sleepy haze the night before. Whew! My phone was back!

Killing activities: not a good idea. 😁

Yeah changing things in developer options should only been done if really necessary... :).

Why have 3GB of memory if you're not going to store cached applications in it? :P
