I'm totally stuck with this error (error: device not foudn) on the LG G Pad 8.3

I'm following this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g-pad-8-3-rooting-roms-hacks/632660-rooting-installing-marshmallow-aosp-lg-gpad-8-3-a.html to install marshmallow on my G Pad 8.3 running 4.4.2, computer Windows 10

I've installed the correct tablet drivers (the commands work at first untill I boot into recovery).
But when I select "apply update from adb" and use the sideload action, I get "error: device not found"
I've tried going into device manager but there's no android device or other which comes up
I really don't know what to do; I've cleared the cache and done a factory reset to no avail. Some help would really be appreciated here.
