I wouldn't normally post stuff like this but im so frustrated by this POS that i just have to.

The phone sucks. Period. Issues -

1) Terrible battery life. Like truly terrible.
2) Phone is slow and laggy. Freeezes up. Takes forever to do just basic stuff.
3) Touch wiz blows. I came from a M8 and Sense is so much better. Not even close.
4) The edge doesn't do anything with the edge. Its like a gimmick. What good is it?
5) Speaking of the edge - my fingers somehow touch the sides and it screws it up. Terrible for one hand usage.

I just hate the phone. Worst phone I've ever had and I'm stuck with it for 8 more months. Anyone have something they want to trade for it?

I have a unlocked Samsung 64 gig S6 Edge with none of the issues you mention. As you sure you have a similar phone?

You sure your using a gs6 and not a Iphone 6 hum keep it real have not had that issue with mine ether

Since you may be stuck with it for a while, some suggestions.

(Disclosure: my favorite phone ever, but I very that mileage varies. )

1) Package Disabler Pro in the App store. Turning off some background processes sent my battery life through the roof. Better than my Note 3, better than my wife's iPhone 6s.

2) No idea for what to tell you about the slowdown. Look through the forum. Most people are thrilled, including me, but you may find suggestions.

3) Nova launcher. Every Android phone I've had, Nova is the first app I download. There's a thread air this in the Note 5 forum, but it blows away every other vendor's UI, including stock Google. A couple minutes customizing and you'll never be without it again.

In other words, yeah, for me personally, no TouchWiz, Sense, or anything else. I don't like any of em.

4) and 5). For me, the edge is about looks. I enjoy holding it too, but I've actually turned off all the edge features. You'll find the phone MUCH more usable, including one handed once all that is out of your way.

That may make no sense to you, but it does to me. The Note is supposedly "all about" the stylus, right? Wrong. Had Notes for years, adored 'em, actively hated the stylus. I loved all the OTHER stuff.

So, ignoring top tier marketing hype is second nature to me. LOL Like the Note, I enjoy what I enjoy about the edge for MY reasons....but those don't include feeds and shortcuts on the edge of the phone.

(I use and recommend Swipe Pad for this. Much more flexible and robust. Typically the 2nd app I add to every new phone.)

One of the things i love most though is the speed, so the fact that your experience isn't speedy concerns me. That's something that needs addressing for sure. May even be something wrong with the phone.

After you get it fine tuned you may still hate it. For me, not just my favorite phone, but one of my tippy top tech devices of all time.

Good luck! Keep asking and maybe we can help. I think it's worth it.

1 & 2 are usually the same issue with background processes. Spend a little time learning the device and the bloat some providers install and then disable them. You'll see your performance and battery life increase exponentially, better than most phones. I know my edge is better than my old iPhone 6.

The side is kind of gimmicky, the edge + is much more useful but hopefully more useful apps will come along but I do believe the side curves relaxes the eyes, I can stare at this device all day long, something I could not do with any other device.

If the side is really that much of an issue, get a case, problem solved.

i phone 6 S

Definitely falls into the category of "your mileage may vary." There are many threads about iPhone 6 in the Note 5 forum in particular, but a few here too. Many people own them both. Many people, like me, have loved ones with the iPhone. Comparisons are easy to come by.

In my case, my wife, her sister, and my parents all have the big iPhone 6 (sorry, I don't remember the exact name of the big one). NONE of them think their phone outperforms mine. They are ALL surprised at how fast and capable mine is. Most of the time, they're quite envious.

We admittedly don't poke at this too hard, because life is short, and none of us is going to change our minds. LOL My point is just that some people will find that a properly operating edge has a bit of an "edge" over the iPhone. Again noting that mileage will vary, but this is exactly the reason I think it's worth troubleshooting the edge in hand first. It might turn out to be the better choice after all.
