iMac question

New iMac (nice). I connect Dinc with wire check the use as disc drive box. Window on iMac says something like "unable to recognize this drive". No "unknown device" icon upper right. But 2 different icons appear on the left, and each opens some photos, which I can import to iphoto. But I can't see all the photos on the phone. What I want to do is add music (which is in iTunes on the mac). Anyone??

Mine says the same thing but the sd and internal sd pop up on the right side of the desktop as "no name" and I just drag and drop the songs from itunes

You can just hit ok and ignore that, everything works.
