So yesterday I contacted AT&T to see if everything was correct in the system since i activated my unlocked Note 8 on it last week. I typically do this with unlocked phones and have never had a problem before. However, it showed that I had a "mismatched IMEI number" and when entering my new one, their system didn't recognize it as a smartphone. They said it was listed as a 2G/feature phone, and to anyone with half a brain that ought to be obviously incorrect. The rep transferred me to tech support, who then knowingly applied my IMEI, thus killing LTE/data on my phone.
I called customer service again, they claimed to have fixed it. Nothing. Ended up going to an ATT corporate store where they ended up using a dummy IMEI number to fix my issue. The rep suggested I wait until at least the 15th to try anything with this again. So, at this point I'm thinking I may just leave it as is, but my question is this. Upon official street release date, do you think the IMEI on my N8 will show up correctly if it were then entered in AT&T's database?
