IMEI unlock before/after OS upgrade Gingerbread

Hello everyone.

I have an Inspire 4g running Froyo 2.2 and I ve just got it unlock by IMEI. Test it with a TMobile sim card and works beautiful.

My questions is if I take the upgrade to Gingerbread am I going to lose the unlock? Can I use the same code to unlock it again if it so?
