iMessage and group chat

Hey guys I just switched back to android from an iPhone and am having a bit of an issue with group messages that I was a part of before I switched. My wife and my mother in law, who keeps our daughter every morning, use group chat but their messages are still sending as iMessage in the group chat but my wife, who still has an iPhone, is able to text me individually. Does anyone know of a remedy for this? It is really my last hurdle from switching from iOS.

And yes. I deactivated iMessage.

Have them delete the group conversation and start it again -- it could be caching that you had an iPhone.

Calling Apple helps as well. They're usually pretty good about it. Keep in mind it can take 24-48 hours to break from the Apple ecosystem

What the others said above, however I will say I still have random problems with group texts and apple users. Sometimes there texts will come through as individual texts during the group message and it gets confusing. Essentially Apple is ****.
