Hi, So, I've had my S4 for less than a day and I've changed had to have a new sim card to support 4G, my old iPhone is backed up but I can import my contacts because Samsung smart switch isn't working on my Mac.

I do however have all my contacts backed on to a spreadsheet. Is there anyway that I can import them to my S4 or do I have to manually enter them all. I have a hell of a lot.

Or, is there a simpler way that someone can show me?

Thanks

If you're using any web based email system like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. you can save your Excel file as a .csv and do a direct import into Contacts in any of those systems. That would then sync to your phone.

Hi, there are many version of CSV; Comma delimited, MS-DOS. Which is the correct format to be exported for andriod phone?

Almost always your default is MS-DOS, which works just fine. CSV is simply a Comma Separated Value file.

OP, you could simply login to your GMail account associated with your phone and upload the contacts into the GMail Contacts section and then they will show up on your phone (as long as you have Contact Syncing enabled). & From there it should be easy to save them to your phone. :)

The Simpplest way of importing and exporting contacts is by an Android Application
ExcelContacts is a simple application where user can keep the file to be imported in Excelcontact folder and then from the app
just click on import contact button it will copy/write all the contacts to phonebook
