Just wanted to warn everyone that it will be impossible to activate your EVO 4G LTE if you are having it shipped directly to you (at home or office) without going to a Sprint store.

This is quoted directly from www.sprint.com/activate :

Have your new phone handy - you'll need to enter in information located beneath its battery to get started.

Since we can't remove the battery, I guess we will never be able to get that information from underneath it. ;) :p

EDIT: OK, I guess the attempt at SARCASM was completely missed, anyone reading this thread now, please realize that YES, I understand that we will be able to activate these phones. I did not think that anyone would take the post seriously, I apologize for anyone who thought that it was serious....

I think they are also printed on the box.

OP u r ... lol WRONGif u go to settings/about u can find all the info u need to activate it urself, at home

Maybe it will be stickered on the back of the phone like the razr max.

Almost every Galaxy Nexus preorder had to be activated on the phone or in-store as well, who knows why.

They ask you for the "DEC" which is actually the MEID in decimal format (and most CSRs I've dealt with stubbornly do not accept the hexadecimal/HEX format...)

Also they will be printed where you can pop in the memory card. :)

Sorry all, I have updated the original post -- it was meant to be a humorous jab at the fact that we will not be able to remove the battery, yet the activation instructions say the information is under the battery. I thought the :p and ;) were enough to indicate humor, but it was not.

My meter spiked when I opened the thread:

I think the launch day meters are due for calibration.

I was going to put a thread that I received a tracking number. But then inside I would say it's about something else I ordered and not the EVO 4G LTE. I thought that would be too harsh, considering the tension!

Yeah, I wouldn't be that bad. ;)

I've never ordered a phone online and had it shipped to me where I would have to activate it. So, I thought I would head over to www.sprint.com/activate to see what was required and saw the bit about needing information that was under the battery and thought it was pretty funny.
