Went to an antique tractor/car show with the family yesterday and was my first opportunity to take a decent amount of photos. Granted it was sunny out, but i was very impressed with the quality of them. I'm no photographer, but they're easily good enough for me :)

Frankly I too have been impressed with the camera on the Nexus 6.

As I have always said, as long as the camera hardware is decent, and the person knows how to take decent pictures, then good pictures should be the result.

I must say overall, I am decently impressed with the Nexus text camera. The only thing that I can't figure out how to get is the manual exposure settings because at dusk when the flash isn't and ready to kick in my photos from a very dark. Other than that, I'm very impressed with the camera overall.

Yeah... when things are right (which is most of the time), the thing takes excellent shots. It has a really good sensor in there. Motorola and Google could have done a little bit better with the software.... it bounce focuses with video too easily... and when it gets dark, they don't open her up as much as they could (use a 3rd Party cam and you'll see the difference). But overall it performs a lot better than many seem to think. Since they updated the Google Camera in June/July and radically sped up HDR+, my software complaints have reduced quite a bit.

If I absolutely need the best quality picture I can get? I'll use the Olympus compact I have... or my wife's G4... but otherwise, 99.9% of the time, my Nexus 6 gets the job done, and done really well. And I've never looked back at anything and though "Man, these pics stink"

Here is another one impressed of the camera. The HDR mode solve most of the possible issues and works really well in low light conditions

I've also got a ton of great shots on my N6 - it easily holds its own with my brothers iP6. And frankly the couple of specialized smartphone photography sites have the N6 camera ranked much higher than the original wave of device reviews did. The one thing that would be nice would be faster focus in low light, but otherwise I have no complaints.
