Has anyone else noticed that that the signal is better on the s22 than it is on the previous Samsung phones when you are in a low signal area?

I usually have to use my AT&t hotspot at work because I didn't even have a signal in my office because it's so horrible with verizon. Today I was able to use my phone without the hotspot and go anywhere in the building and keep a signal it wasn't a strong signal but it was a signal and I was still able to use my phone.

I know I saw an article somewhere that talked about they found a way to improve the low signal quality but I didn't think it would actually work.

Absolutely yes. My emails send quicker, text send quicker. Calls seem to be clearer too. Compared to my S21 Ultra.

The phones in the S22 lineup are the first on the US market with Qualcomm's X65 modem-RF system, which according to Qualcomm has two features that should improve low-signal performance: a new envelope tracker and "AI-enhanced signal boost." Both innovations optimize radio power to squeeze the best possible results out of tough situations. These features may appear in other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones, but the S22 models are currently the only handsets that use the chipset stateside.

X60 / x65 modems are trash. If you use hotspot phones will overheat we're their about to explode... The phones with best reception and highest quality we're the x55 phones like s20 / iPhone 12..... Those phones are tanks!!! If you're trying to use 5g you want that x55 modem. That leaves you with two choices. iPhone 12 or Netgear nighthawk M5 hotspot... Good luck guys don't get carried baited into these new s22 phones or new iPhone 13s..

Thanks for information and your opinion. But most people can decide what’s correct for them.you are in the s22 forum

YES! The new S22 Ultra on Verizon is MUUUUUUUCCCHHH better cellular signal versus my old Note 10+ on Verizon!! Previously I barely got any reception inside my high rise condo building near downtown San Francisco. I used to always rely on the Wifi Calling feature on the Note 10+ phone via my home wifi router in order to make outgoing phone calls and to receive calls too, otherwise the call quality was pathetic. But now my S22 Ultra is able to make phone calls no problem even without having to connect to my home wifi router. I had dead spots in many locations in San Francisco, such as at a favorite restaurant, or at the lower food court floor of a shopping mall, or any number of various spots. But my new S22 Ultra has a much better signal on Verizon's network. Just this one thing alone is worth the price of admission for upgrading to a new phone. All the other features are merely a spec bump in my opinion compared to my old Samsung Note 10+ phone.

Do you honestly think I want to down grade to a phone that isn't new? Of course not..... The s21 phones were downgrades.... Any phone with a snapdragon 888 processor is trash that overheats.... When the note 20 / s20 came out damn you can use these phones like crazy and they'll never heat up..

The only phone that you can buy right now that's new that doesn't over heat is the pixel 6... If you're willing to downgrade for best service quality that has c band then iPhone 12... I truly wish s20 and note 20 had c band but these carriers don't want people to have good phones.... They want to get you to buy next year's models.... They just keep downgrading these phones for the past two years...

The only way you get around these carriers or phone companies scamming you would be to have the old grandfathered unlimited data plan from verizon so you could put that sim in the nighthawk M5 and and rape them by abusing that 5g hotspot.. believe me I don't care about apple, Google or Samsung... Just stating current facts as of today... There is no upgrade with the s22... It's the exact same thing as last year.... X55 is king... Hopefully they release real upgrades next year and I'm all in.

While again thankyou for the information and your opinion. No one is being forced at gunpoint to purchase and use the s22.if it’s not what you want or need simply don’t purchase it.But I will enjoy my new Skyblue S22 ultra when it arrives. That’s my choice

Signal is a lot stronger from my Pixel 4XL. Sitting in my house, the Pixel would show -110 to -120 dBm while the S22 is showing -80 to -96 and all in the green.

Now will it be strong enough to pull in a signal a mile east of my house? I'll get time to try that out; someday.

All I know is that I always gets drops on the way home from work and when I pull in my neighborhood. This happens 90 out of 100 times.

I have no signal in my office at work.

I lose my signal on a whole hall at my school.

I got this phone on Monday and I haven't had a dropped call yet. I haven't used my att Hotspot at all this week.

This is a huge thing for me. I want the Fold 3 to still be my main device but that signal booster is going to make it hard for me.

What phone do you have that has the x65 modem?

Also what does that have to do with the signal being better on the S22?

I will chime in after I've paid a visit to my in-laws' house (and their basement, in particular.)

Whatever is making the signal better is an upgrade.... Are you getting or have gotten the s22?

Yes my reception is better in several places I frequent.

My 5G isn't very fast though, about the same as 4G.

I don't understand why it takes so long for the phone to start up from "off" though. Nova used to have a feature where the homepage was saved in cache and loaded faster. Apparently not any longer.

I also miss the legit finger print sensor on the back.

You did nothing wrong by politely replying to some unnecessary posts, and I'm sure most people here agree with you.

1 bar of signal where I live (in town) with the Note 20U and now 1 bar of signal with the 22U.

No upgrade in signal quality for me. I have a Flip3 and no improvement with S22U. Not a huge issue as I just keep mobile data off at home and only use wifi.
