Is anyone using the in box headphones? If so, how are they for you?
They seem nice but I heard they lack skip track function by double or triple pressing the mic button.

The skip track function is a software feature not headphone feature. I have tried 4 different pairs of headphones and none of them skip tracks.

That is rather keggy I must say. Is there some alternate way of track skipping or do you have to unlock the phone etc... ?

They're good for free headphones, better than most you get in box, they feel cheap too, but I prefer my skullcandy ones!

From what I can discern from using them is that they are pretty good for free pair of headphones. They replaced my pre's buds, and they sound decent. They fall prey to the inherent nature of in ear headphones which you will hear the scraping of the cable against your articles of clothing. If your an audiophile you probably won't like it, but i use it as a pair to keep with me so if i want to privately listen to music wherever I am, these are more than capable of doing so

Went from an HTC 3D to a One

I am certain I'm in the minority, but I'm going to keep using the headphones that came with my iPhone 5 -- I just can't use in-ear buds...they give me a headache. I do wish there was a way though to use the buttons and stuff on my headphones with the One.

Headset button controller app works fine and you can setup your remote from HTC headphones. Currently I have
- press once pause/play
- twice next track
- three clicks previous track
- four clicks volume

Will that app work with Amazon MP3 player and Pandora?

The T-Mobile version and the unlocked version didn't get the headphones.

My DE came with them, but they're not good. Given the poor reviews that Beats stuff gets I wouldn't be surprised if these are just unbranded Beats gear.

Actually, my unlocked version came with headphones. I think it's only the Tmobile version that's missing them. Although I personally use a nice set of stereo bluetooth headphones and haven't even opened the stock ones.

that's not always the case. I have a pair of urbeats that have a forward track, backward track, and play button on the headphone cord. these ear buds are made for HTC devices. I got them when I bought my one X.

the in box ear buns are unbranded beats. they use cheap materials, but sound really good for free ear buds.

I went ahead and bought the urbeats for HTC off Amazon (see link) used them today for the first time and they work great. Back, forward, play, pause, answer, end call. They all work with the good sound.
No volume control but no big deal to reach in the pocket to change it.
And at $60, your getting beats headohones for almost half the price of the new ones that work with the phone.

Oh, I'm wrong. Only the T-Mobile version didn't get them. I've heard that they are unbranded beats, but we all know how bad beats are. Probably still better than many in box headphones though.
