in stores or online ...

The only thing I like about going in the stores or ordering over the phone is that they let me just put the price of the phone on my next bill. That way I still have 20-30 days or more to pay it. Is this possible with ordering online too, or do they make you pay upfront?

Thanks

You can put it on your bill if you order online.

I just tried and no, you can't.

Yeah you can, Ive done it several times. It varies for every person though. Maybe credit based?? I don't really know. When my cousin ordered his charge he couldn't do it either. I ordered the Droid Bionic online and basically "Put it on my account". I do this with every phone incase i need to return it. Then i never have to move any money if i end up not keeping the phone, Verizon flips the bill for 30 days. If i keep the phone my next bill is like $600 and i pay it off then. They also allow me to order accessories like that online. Theres an option for "Bill to account" or something at the end.

Might be a credit issue or how your bill has been paid in the past. Whenever I buy a phone I'm always asked if I I want it billed to my account. Might also depend on his long you are. Customer.

I just tried online with the Razr (just to see if it would work) and, there was no option to add it to my account

I think that could be it, at least in my case. My account is in good standing but; I've only been back with Verizon since May. I have a credit from when I bought the Bionic (that they charged to my account at the store). This is the only reason I can see them doing this, especially since I have a negative balance, basically my money in their system.

It's kind of strange that they would let me bill it to my account in the store but, not online. It's got to be because I haven't been with them long enough.

Yea not sure why not. Could be the negative balance. I remember paying my bill twice one month and I had a negative balance. Not sure why they even let me pay twice.

It is none of the above. I've been with Verizon for quite a while, my credit is fine, and I have the option available in store. I've confirmed with multiple reps online and in store that bill to account is only available in store.

I ordered the thunderbolt online and billed it to my account so pretty sure the reps you talked to were full of it.

I did the same 2 months ago with the Bionic.

EDIT

Think i might have found the problem!

It says Verizon only allows $250 in credit per line. If you are on a single line it wouldn't allow you to bill the RAZR or any other 299 phone because its over the single line limit. I have 3 lines, so im allowed 750. This match up with anyone else?

Nope. Billed the bionic at full price to my account in store without issue

Billing to Account

It all goes by your credit. I have 4 lines and my credit is over 2000.

So it is credit based? Where did you look this up to tell how high yours is?

I remember when I first got the plan they did a credit check and told me how much we could put to the bill. I would assume calling and asking they would be able to tell you what your limit is.
