I can't seem to get Location to properly work. On today's bike ride, whereby my Ave speed should be more like 19 mph, my Gear indicated 55.9 and 649 miles. Must i calibrate gps initially? If so, how?

I enabled Location in Standalone mode.

Also...I thought location was auto enabled when exercise started, is that not correct? The first time I used the exercise section, I'm sure it asked me. Maybe my Gear must be in Standalone mode before enabling location?

Thanks, Scott

I have a similar problem. I question if the GPS even works. If I put my phone in powersaving mode, my watch doesn't use GPS on my runs.

In your case, I believe that's standard operating functioning. Is gps accurate for you if not in power saving mode?

I think that's weird, though, that turning on power saving on the phone makes the GPS on the watch not work. Oh well.

Yes, it's pretty accurate when it IS working. I've had a few instances when it's been turned off or in standalone mode right before I went for a run and the GPS didn't record everything. But otherwise...just like a Garmin...or really much better than my last Garmin... But I will say this, since I switched to using Textra as my default messaging app, my watch starts synching messages as soon as it goes into standalone, severely draining the battery. Haven't figured out how to stop that yet...
