I wanted to give myself a couple of days with a naked Bionic before deciding on a case. I love the protection of the Otterbox (Defender), but didn't want to carry a backpack just to put my phone in. After an exhaustive search of approximately 15 minutes, I finally decided on the Incipio Silicrylic case shown above. This is a two part case - an inner silicone lining (the white part ) and a hard rubberized plastic shell (the gray) that includes a screen protector (which I'm not using). After one full day of use I'm torn - and so is the inner lining of the case.
Things I like about the case:
- Looks really sharp
- Fits well (or did until the silicone liner tore)
- All of the critical ports are exposed
- Adds some bulk, but not a lot of heft to the phone
- The case has a nice feel to it
- Offers pretty good protection
- Still fits in the Standard Dock (with the dock insert removed)
Drawbacks:
- Doesn't fit the phone with the extended battery
- I also use a Tune Belt armband because I my phone is also a fitness accessory, and I can wedge my Bionic in there with the case on it, but it doesn't really fit
- Covers the LED Notification Light (which is okay for me, but may bother others)
- In my testing of the fit w/ the extended battery, Tune Belt and the dock, I put the case on the phone and took it off 3-4 times - and the silicone lining has torn at 2 of the four corners. I wouldn't mind, except that it now affects the overall fit.
I don't use the extended battery all that often, as I dock my phone at the office and dock it on my bedside table at night - so I'll probably only use the extended battery on the weekends - but that means no case on the weekends. I'll keep using it during the week - for the time being anyway, and am going to try to get a replacement silicone lining from Incipio. I like how the case feels and looks, and other than the Tune Belt and the Extended Battery fit, I'd be completely satisfied with it.
