Included screen protector on S10/+

Has anyone removed the included screen protector with the intention of using it without any screen protector? Is this what we are supposed to do, or leave it on? I'm wondering if it was included for a reason, such as an easily scratchable screen. I've never used a screen protector, and I think it looks much better without it.

I took mine off immediately. I never use them anyways, and this one felt particularly cheap to me. Heck, it was pretty much the same plastic material they usually use just for shipping protection that you rip off first-thing anyways.

I left mine on.... because I'm afraid I'll mess it all up trying to take it off. And because I scratch screens like it's my job.

If you decide you want to take it off, it isn't difficult or damaging. Use a fingernail at a corner to get it started, then it peels off easily from there. No residue left or anything.

I have had the S10 for a day and I personally like the pre installed screen protector, it's very smooth and I haven't had any issues with the fingerprint scanner

It feels so cheap I'm thinking it will take about a week before it looks like it's been through a few wars.

I agree with this, same for me. I game a lot and it works fine

I bought a glass protector for my s9+ last year and everytime I took it out of my bag, the thing fell off! I've not used any protector on my screen for about 9 months. I've dropped the phone out on the street a few times (held my breath). No cracked screen! No scratches, no dings. I'm shocked!

may i ask how best to remove it without any damage please? thank you.

Posted this just a few posts above yours, but use a fingernail at a corner to get it started, then it peels off easily from there. No residue left or anything.

Flossy did an unboxing of the S10e, and he took it off. It was a flimsy piece of plastic, not to be considered a "protector" at all. Now, whether or not the ones on the other models are higher quality, I'm not sure yet. But they are charging $30 for a replacement, and the ones they preinstalled have a 90 day warranty. 🤷🏻

it's not a screen protector whatsoever. it's merely a piece of the usual thin plastic peel off!

weird. it's just that it was applied very well and curves well. that's all.

it peels off with barely any effort. it's just the exact same thin plastic as every other phone from past years.

It's a screen protector, like the ones that existed before glass protectors were a thing.

I actually love the screen protector that Samsung put on. It's what the definition of a screen protector was before this whole tempered glass trend took over. It's thin, smooth, clear, protects from everyday scratches, and you can barely tell it's there.

I absolutely hate tempered glass screen protectors. They are usually a nightmare to get to stay on without some sort of lifting on the edges (especially on curved screen Samsung phones), and they make your phone look ridiculous imo. Glass on top of glass just isn't a good look no matter how much you sugar coat it. I hate seeing the raised edges of the glass and obvious hole cutouts.

Agreed. Love this screen protector and hate the glass. Glass protector makes it look so cheesy

The best ones I ever found like you mention were made by a company called Steinheil. I don't think they are around anymore.

Yeah, I used to love those too!

But yeah glass looks ridiculous on a phone to me. It's so obvious that it's ok and it just looks cheesy.

Oh I remember them. Them and power support were awesome for film protectors.
