Incoming AOL Mail gets stuck

I frequently get a couple of incoming mail messages that will not delete. They continue to show up as unread, and when I try to delete them I get a force close warning on the Evo. I've had to delete the account and set it up again as a work around but this seems a bit nuts. Any help how I can get these messages out of my inbox?
