Incoming update shortly

No update yet? I have rebooted and battery pull a few times. Should I try something else or be patient?

I keep going to my settings in hopes that the next time would be the time :'( but I'm still waiting:-\

Motorola and Verizon should have received the results of the soak test today, then they will make the final decision to push out this update to the rest of the masses or fix problems and start over. Be patient.

the update was not sent out to just soak testers, there are everyday users receiving the update already so just wait patiently like im hating to do right now and the update will come, hopefully quickly!!!!

You are partially correct. It was sent to a small group that included testers and regular users. After that they rely on the information from the testers for a go/no go. There won't be any more waves until the approval. I'd say if approved more batches will go later this week. Until approved no one else will receive it OTA.

and judging from the negative feedback I've read on various forums (despite some good reports), I'm thinking that maybe they will "go back to the drawing board", rather than face another firestorm of criticism of how bad connectivity is.

Just my two cents...I was lucky enough to get the update last Friday, it has definitely improved my connectivity, although its still not perfect. Had a random reboot today out of the blue which has also happened a few times in the past...so not everything is fixed. Other reported issues didn't affect me, overall pretty happy. Oh..camera takes photos much much faster than before.

Yeah I have it and I'm not seeing great improvements. Although in the battery usage statistics I am seeing that the main user of battery is my screen now and sometimes the OS. The cell standby is 4 or 5 down the list now where before it was always first and using at least 40% of my battery. I have still had the data signal drop out twice and I've also seen the BSOD twice as well. The camera does seem to be better but it's still not that great. I never had the headphone whine so I can't comment on that.

failed update

I just got the notice for the update and have tried to install 3 times. it is downloading the file quickly then during reboot the android with the box stops halfway and boots only to get the message that the update failed. i rooted mine a while back, however i unrooted recently and verified that the root is not there by trying to use titanium backup. super user is still stuck on it but it doesn't do anything because its not rooted anymore. any advice?
