Well, not really dead on arrival. It turns on and can connect via Wifi. However, no calling out/ using 3G. After sitting on the land line with a Verizon Service Tech for an hour and twenty minutes, it was determined that HTC recycled a serial number the phone needs to connect. Whenever the phone would try to "call" out, either for data or to make a call, it would beep and end the transmission. The tech is overnighting me a new phone, and said the latest it would be here would be Monday. On top of that, he told me he was unable to reactivate my old phone (an LG Scoop... I know.) on Verizon's network for the time being as it is an Alltel phone. The only thing he would really do for me was add a $10 credit to my account for the screen protector that got destroyed when I had to peel it off. After waiting for three weeks just to receive the phone, this is kind of pissing me off. Anyone else having this problem?

This sounds frustrating!

I'm up for an upgrade and have been checking the MyVerizon account area and it now states that Incredible shipments will be July 12th 2010. It was June 28th a few days ago. At this rate I may just wait and pass on the Incredible and see what else is available next month.

I know it's frustrating, but I would use this to my advantage.. Verizon is pretty good about keeping their customers happy, so complain about the battery or something, and maybe they will send you a nifty new 2150 battery. (They've done it for others on this forum, and they even sent me a half-price case, set of screen protectors, car charger, and free sd card bc I had to wait a bit for the shipping)

Dude if all this was going on for me I would get more than a $10 credit. I think you should call back and push the issue. Don't be a goof about it, stand your ground but be firm, if that person doesn't satisfy you then ask to speak with their supervisor. I went through 2 supervisors one night and finally got what I wanted. Just be persistent and insist on how you wouldn't think for a second about going to a different carrier. Most of the time they will hook you up a lot better than $10.

+1 you have to be firm

Tell the supervisor that you are considering an Evo or something. Let them know you can sign up with a competitor if they don't make things right.

If it's not in hand tomorrow, I'll be calling back and giving them a piece of my mind. This is getting to be ridiculous, especially with reports of bigger and better things coming out in less than a couple of months.

You should just wait for the samsung galaxy so you can tell us all how it is.

No but seriously though that stinks. I wonder if at this point they have refurbished ones they are sending out as replacements.

Exactly. I did they same thing, don't settle for the little things they toss out at you. I would call back and demand more from them.

Just got off the phone with Verizon. They didn't process the order until after their shipping deadline, so now I am completely sans-cell phone until Monday. I went ballistic on the supervisor. All she was able to do at this point was give me a free month of Access. She also gave me her personal line, and told me to call her on Monday and we would work on pricing (even patching through to HTC, if that's what it takes.) This marks the second time in this whole order the Incredible/ Wait to get the Incredible that I have been left with no working cell phone by Verizon. The first time was a simple telephone number change to get rid of some junk incoming texts.

Them them Sprint offered you a phone for the weekend while you were waiting on Verizon. I don't see why they wouldn't issue a loaner device, gotta love red tape.

Thats not bad. I would try and talk them into some free accessorys. That stuff cannot cost that much. Or maybe a free BT headset?

Annnnnnddd just got off the phone with Verizon again, as I still haven't been contacted (I was told they would contact me by noon today). Apparently, I will now not receive my phone until Tuesday.

I HATE dealing with Verizon, but I like their cell phone coverage in my area.

They are giving you a run around and then some. I would be pretty livid, but that's nothing new when dealing with them. Good luck with all of this. :)

Okay, so I went into a Verizon store and tried to get my old phone activated, if only just until Tuesday. The rep was unable to do so. He then proceeded to give me two free months of cell phone service for both lines on the contract. That includes Access and everything, which will save me around $300 in the long run. Needless to say, this will suffice, and I'll just have a nice, peaceful weekend of being unplugged.

I'm sure that you could get something for free (probably the new battery) if you complain enough.

Turns out VZW is only accommodating as long as you are within the 30 day period. So make sure you are happy with your compensation before that 30 days is up.

I would demand a battery, but thats just me :)

I feel your pain. After setting up my new D-Inc., I realized I wasn't getting any replies to my texts and emials, went to a local VZW store and spent 2.5 hours with their wonderful tech support specialists and no luck at all getting it to work. They told me they couldn't get me a new one on order because something was up with their system. I went home, called tech support and they told me they would have one over nighted to me. GOOD LUCK!!! That was over a week ago and I have spent numerous hours on the phone with VZW and they have no new phones to replace my "broken" one. According to 90% of the csr people, there is some super secret warehouse with replacement/new phones to help us out that have had trouble with them..but that couldn't be farther from the truth. So now I am back in the que waiting for my new D-Inc to ship out on july 9th. The wait is killing me because after using the phone even without text or email for a few days was way better than my Storm 1.
