Incredible HTC micro-USB TV-Out Cable

iPhone, iPad, iPod: TV out support

They've actually supported it before this phone came out. lol. Of course you need a few "special" cables priced at Apple prices to make it work.

Actually it is only partially supported. that is what my statement referred to. The iPhone/iPod only has video out. It can only send video, youtube, or pictures out. While the Incredible sends everything out. Makes it much more versatile as a work tool as well. I am speaking from experience, as I have a 3rd Gen iPod Touch and the video out cable for it.

Ah I've never used video out on any of those devices so I wasn't aware of that, thanks for the heads up. Eck that sucks and I can see where it would be nice to have for presentations....hummm.

Just an FYI: If you have a corporate account or your company has a Verizon corp account, you can order these through your Verizon corp rep and get it MUCH cheaper. I just ordered mine for $16.28 shipped with 2day.

Yeah through the business account I used to be on I got 25% off accessories. Need to see if my discount is still in there, it is for the phone plan ;)

Yeah I would be interested to hear how well it works out. I may order one just because you never know when it will be handy to have. The presentation thing made my day, that still has my mind thinking about it.

On FedEx vehicle for delivery - Yay!!

Yes, I am that sad.

In the same boat as you with a different product so I know how ya feel. In my case it my wifes Moto Droid Verizon is sending us to replace her Eris....after 4 crappy ones....so no not sad, I would say normal. ;)

Ok, so I played with this cable for a good portion of the night. Overall, it was a good experience and I recommend it for anyone wanting to further their multimedia experience with their phone. I first hooked it up to my 50" HD plasma tv. This was a bit to much for the phone. It worked fine but all images were a bit distorted. The cable did work as advertised. Everything you see on your phone, you see on screen. It worked great for video playback, picture viewing (The slideshow function with music in the background looked nice), and internet viewing. The only quirk I found was when viewing a video. You must make sure you have the phone set in the orientation that you want to view the video before starting playback. If you switch views during plaback then the phone starts to lag majorly until you have to pull the cable and reboot the phone. If you preset the orientation before playback then video viewing is flawless.

After testing on the HD TV, I moved to a normal 25" analog TV and it looked and worked great. It seemed to run a bit smoother as well. You still need to make sure the orientation is set for video playback.

My last test was using the cable with my Cinemin Pico projector. I hooked it up and projected the phone's image on a wall. This gave me approx. a 50" image that again worked perfectly.

The phone/cable is great for the entertainment features but where it really shines is when using it for document presentations. The text was surprisingly clear and easy to read. This also made internet viewing a pleasurable experience.

Overall, I would give it a 4 out of 5. I deducted one point for the video playback/orientation quirk. Overall it is a solid addition to the Incredible accessory lineup. And we sure know that lineup needs as many additions as possible.

@bigslam123 Thanks for the rundown on your experience. I'm supposed to be getting this cable in the mail today and was eager to hear the experience from others.

Have I mentioned lately that I love my phone? I now have my trucks dvd system wired so that i can hook my phone directly into its video display. Great for NAV

Now that's an idea! I've gotten so used to only hearing the directions now that I wouldn't even need it though. I'm finding it to be a bit more accurate on navigation than my Nuvi 200 ever was.

Mine came in today also. Spent some time with it and it works great. My wife saw it and wants an Incredible now too.

I told she might have to wait a few weeks for hers....:p

I just ordered it from Verizon phone support - paid only 16.38 after my employer discount, but Verizon's full price is only 19.99. I called 4 different stores in Phx first, but they had none in stock.

It says on the VZW website that the cable listed @ $19.99 is not compatible with the Incredible...when those of you that ordered it, get it, please report in.

Thanks,

JC
