I just ordered one and I'll be dumping my BB Storm (thank God !). Can I have my Mac Mail pushed to this phone? The BB has a decent Desktop Manager for Mac, is there anything like that for Android ?

No just regular Mac Mail. Right now whenever I get an email, it also goes to my BB. I just want to be able to do that.

who is your provider (your isp, hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc)

for the most part, if you can receive your mail on your blackberry, you'll be able to get it on an android device.

as to actually syncing with the apple email client, you can use something like The Missing Sync Android Sync Software for Nexus One, Droid, Hero and Other Android Phones to do it.

but android is designed to sync with the cloud or ota, and does that pretty well. i stopped syncing my phones with outlook when i dumped blackberry and haven't looked back.

Thanks Adiliyo, I use comcast for my email, I also have a gmail account but I don't use it much. I did use Missing sync with my BB before they came out with their Desktop Manager, I can go back to that I just wondered if there was a free one from Android.

When you say "sync with the cloud or ota" what do you mean; how do you do that?

since you use comcast, i'm pretty sure they use a pop mail system. you can setup the mail client on the device to pull mail from the server, so the mail gets to your device over the air (OTA) instead of being synced with the mail application on your mac.

the only downside is that non exhcnange and gmail emails are not pushed, so you won't get them instantly, but when the phone polls the server (you can set the interval, ie every 5 minutes)

there is little to no need to sync your phone with a computer aside from getting music, videos and pictures on it.

you can also forward your comcast mail to gmail (look on google) which would then have it be pushed to the phone.

also, i'd reccomend getting your contacts into gmail, as then they will always be synced with the phone, and you have a backup in case you need to replace the phone.

Wow that's great. I guess I need to get over my fear of using the cloud. I've always been leery of exporting my info, such as contacts, from my computer to the cloud. I'll need to look at things a bit differently . Thanks again for all the info Adiliyo.
