I am on of those early adopters and have been loving every minute. What a huge upgrade over my previous combination of EnV3 and iPod touch. Suffice to say, looks like the Incredible will be even more of a success than the Moto DROID was. Once Verizon is able to keep them in stock we will hopefully see more TV/radio ads featuring the Inc

"Verizon sold 100,000 of the phones, which run Google's Android software, in the first two days after launch in late April and is now mostly restricted to online sales because it cannot keep the phones on store shelves, he said."

These things sold like crazy. I could only imagine the numbers had they had more in stock.

can you imagine how many they would sell if they would actually advertise the thing

I'm assuming they will once they get caught back up with stock. No need to advertise with a product you can't keep in stock I guess. I just keep seeing Moto Droid commercials every five minutes and I say where'd the HTC Incredible love, but it makes sense though

I never even saw a commercial for it. I agree it would be nice for the Incredible to get some love, but with it falling under the 'Droid' name seemingly anyone who goes into a VZW store and asks to see a Droid would be shown both the original and the Incredible and could then make their decision.

It seems like, with such little advertisement, that only nerds bought the Incredible. That's pretty crazy.

I read somewhere that the Inc would have blown the MOTO Droid out of the water had there not been such a huge shortage in supply.

I laugh at some of the comments posted by MOTO Droid owners in the Market: "get a REAL Droid...turn your Incredible in and get a Motorola..." and "Sense suxx...that's not real Android."

LOL...okay, whatever. Sounds like envy to me. :)

The Incredible is an amazing device. Instead of us android users fighting amongst our selves, we need to recognize the real fight. Android vs every other OS.

imagine how this thing would of sold with some marketing behind it. 1 commercial??? come on. i still see so many motorola droid commercials....

yah, but the nice thing about Verizon's "Droid" branding is that if someone comes in and says "I want a Droid" the sales people can say "Well, we have 2 droids. This one has a keyboard if you need that and this other one is brand new and has a 8mp camera etc etc".

While I would like to see them continue the same style of droid commercials only with the Inc rather than the Moto Droid, their reasoning is (probably) along the lines that people will understand that anything called "Droid" will be able to do all the things in the commercials. Its just you have more than one hardware choice. Don't forget the Droid Eris was launched with the Moto Droid and I have seen a good number of people using those.

Very impressive, it took the Nexus One over 2 months to do the same thing!

It does make sense to advertise phones that are currently available now though. I'm pretty sure once supply gets rolling and the EVO 4G is released on Sprint, VZW will pick it back up.

I just wish that I was one of those 100,000. What baffles me is, Verizon must not have thought this many people would have bought the phone. I mean 100,000 is a lot, but to be sold out after 100,000?

yep. marketing / product development screwed up big time on this one. lost quite an opportunity to lock down more contracts before the EVO comes out and/or rumors of bigger 'n better phones start to spread.

According to the OP's link, the delays were "due in part to component shortages such as the advanced screens made by Samsung". These things will happen and VZW can do little about it...

Right, but to have component shortages, that means you probably ordered less components than you should have IMO

Yup! I think in cases like this we can see why, in example, Apple locked down huge contracts for flash memory a couple years ago. Hopefully HTC has learned its lesson somewhat and we won't have issues like this for the EVO's launch.

Pretty Impressive... Any bets on how well the Evo Does?!?

If the Incredible would of came out with the big screen I would of been all over that...
Only thing that stopped me was that...
