If I'm running the odexed version, can I just flash the deodexed one without losing data?

You will need to perform a full wipe. Since there are odexed files in the ODEX version I would really recommend a full wipe to make sure those are removed and gone completely when the deodexed version is flashed.

So I flashed this though zip but my modem is still under EC05, How can I update it to EF02? Odin is asbolutely out of the question my phone is never recognize by my computer i gotta do everything thru zips

Try a different cable with Odin... works for me every time. As odd as it sounds I ditched the Samsung cable and am using a cable from an old HTC phone.
