Infused 2.04 and Mobile AP

A quick background - I had a Captivate and was running a custom ROM on Froyo, which had the Mobile AP option, which I used quite a bit while driving etc., but never with a laptop. AT&T never seemed to notice.

I dropped my Captivate and broke the screen; went to AT&T and got an Infuse. It was already Froyo, and there was a "warning" message on the Mobile AP screen that it requires a tethering plan.

I promptly rooted and flashed it to Infused 2.04, and I also tried Refuse, but there was some idiosyncratic behavior, plus it had that same warning on the Mobile AP, so I went back to Infused.

I seem to recall reading that the AT&T build has a way to detect when you're using the Mobile AP, hence the warning, but Infused does not have this warning.

Has anyone been using Infused on AT&T's network and had any problems with them detecting the Mobile AP traffic and warning you or trying to add tethering to your account?

Thanks!

I havent really herd of that, but I wouldnt be suprised if somehow they can read it. But then again, that 2.0.4 ROM is a GingerBread based ROM from the Rogers version of the Infuse. Not to sure about that though. The best I can say here is, theres an update to 2.0.5! :)

I rooted my Infuse and after that, i just forced detention of the Tethering manager app, that's what's giving you the warnings. No new ROM needed, and the AP mode is working fine! Hope it helps!

Is this warning y'all speak of only for people with unlimited data (if they even still offer unlimited data) but why would they care if you have a cap, how u use your gb's?
