Initial Review & How to ditch SWYPE?

Got my new Breakout a few days ago and passed on my Fascinate to my wife (easier for me to teach her how to use a phone I've been using a while).

Don't particularly care for the Pantech skin (or whatever it's called) that overlays the familiar Android home pages. Or maybe it's just Android 2.3?

I DO NOT LIKE SWYPE!! Fascinate gave me the option of using standard Android Keyboard; can't find that option in the Breakout (although, oddly enough, it lets me choose options for the Android keyboard). If anyone can tell me how to ditch Swype and the Pantech skin it would be greatly appreciated.

Aside from these two somewhat minor issues, I like the phone so far. I live/work just outside 4G coverage (DFW Texas) but frequent the 4G zone pretty much weekly. Battery life is fine on 3G - it'll go all day (but I don't talk/text/browse all that much). Comparing to Fascinate battery life I would have to say on par or nearly on par with it.

I was on the phone with tech support for 25 minutes trying to figure out how to turn off swype.
Here's what you do:
on your home page, tap the yellow message bubble
tap on 'new message'
where it says 'tap to compose', tap on that and hold down til a box that says 'edit text' appears
tap on 'input method'
tap on 'android keyboard
and that should get rid of swype. Hope that helps! Sorry, I don't know about the pantech skin thing though.

You can get rid of the Pantech skin by setting the home page launcher to use the "Launcher" as opposed to the "Pantech Home".
