Inserting a MicroSD card will make the G5 not detect the SIM card?

When I turn the phone off and eject the sim tray, insert a MicroSD card and reinsert the tray, the phone does not detect a SIM when I turn the phone back on. What's causing this and is there any way to fix this?

?? I have a microsd card in it and I haven't received anything like that. Is your sim card snapped into place? It has to be snapped completely into that grooved slot in the drawer I think.

I haven't experienced that issue at all. Make sure your sim is seated properly in the tray.

Ditto....just put in a card and sim not affected.....maybe the sim is bad or does it work when you take the memory out

The SIM works perfectly fine without the SD card in, just when an SD card is in is when the SIM isn't detected.

What's the make & model of the MicroSD card you're using? Also, with the phone screen facing up, what orientation's of both cards in the tray? Are the pins both facing up or down?

I had the same problem. Went to a Sprint store and they tried swapping the SIM/microSD card tray with one from the demo phone and it worked. The guy said it looks like the tray was bent a little. So I'm now the proud owner of a demo phone tray and my phone is perfect!

It's odd that putting another card in would cause that problem

Had my G5 since Monday 27/6/16 was working fine with just the sim, decided to put my sd card in, sim not working. Have now taken sd car out, still not working, have tested sim in another phone and it is working.

Pain in the butt, so I either get another tray or get my phone swapped by the look of things.

You might confirm that SD card is laying flat in the tray. I'm thinking it may not be and causing SIM to not be making contact. Mine works fine with both.
