Here's a weird one. Every morning, when I wake up, my phone hows that I am in Houston, TX. The time and weather, from what it looks like, through the GPS is putting me in Houston TX. It takes me a while to fix it usually whether it is several resets or what. A couple of times I had to delete the widget and re install it.

Any idea's?

Do you have a microcell in your house? I've read that phones using a microcell for service can give phones false location info.

I am in Middletown, CT. I tried manually setting the time zone to the Eastern Time Zone and the weather still shows me in Houston TX and it would not let me delete it as "Mhy Location". So, I visited the AT&T Corporate store and, of course when I got there the phone fixed itself some how, way, shape, or form. Thety told me the next it does it, if it does, do a hard reset on the phone. Yes, you will lose your info, but see if that fixes it.

The phone was fine for about 3 or so hours and then it went right back to Houston TX. I did the hard reset on the phone 2x's with no luck. So, I went back down to the store and they exchanged my phone for a new. That particular store has never heard of this happening and I couldn't find anything on the forums about it.

Long of it all, AT&T has no clue why it was doing it.

Thanks for all the help.

Ok, I thought I was all set. I now, have been through 3 devices and all 3 of them decide to switch time zones and out themselves in Houston TX. I have been on the phone with AT&T and no one can figure this out. I have the phone set to automatic so if I had to take a stab in the dark, I would say there is something wrong with the network somewhere. The network is sending the wrong information when the phone registers with the network. I will be back to AT&T tomorrow for the 4th device unless they decide to do something different.

I had this phone and it would do the same thing. I live in Houston and the damn thing would always show my location in a different city.Long story short I downloaded beautiful widgets which is way better and have never had problems since. That htc widget always screwed up for me.

Sent from da infuse mon!

Unfortunately, mine isn't only the widget that is screwed up. My phone is actually changing time zones in the settings of the phone. It seems that when I am at home, this happens the most. It seems that the phone is not processing the site that my phone logs into while I am at home. When I leave home and I log in to a different site, I have no problem with my phone.

I have taken my sim card out of my Inspire and put it into a Blackberry Torch and I have no problem at home. So, I think I have it narrowed down to the phone not processing the information received from the site that I am logging into while I am at home.

I think I am going to email HTC Tech Support and see what they have to say.

i'm in ohio.. when i got mine it said i was in madison, wisc..... on home page, try deleting the weather widget (hold down and drag to lower right of screen to remove "houston weather" might have enter your correct city manually but this worked for me

Does this change when you are on a WiFi connection? Google location logs WiFi signals, the WiFi location tag may be wrong. It takes Google several months to update the location of the WiFi signal. If you are connected to WiFi turn your WiFi of then refresh your widget to see if it gives the correct location.

The WIFI thing didn't work. This morning, the phone went back to Houston, TX. When I found it, I shut the WIFI off, reset the phone and it started back up in Houston, TX. the phone did not go back to normal until I was quite a ways from my phone where I'm assuming I had logged into a different site.

Annoying and weird all in one!!!
