instagram profile pic loads sideways

Whenever I try to change my profile picture on instagram, my photo loads sideways on some pictures. I can't find a button to rotate it and it's really frustrating me. Can someone please help me.

You have to change it in the gallery before you post to instagram. From the gallery, select the photo, then press menu. A bunch of options will pop up; rotate left and rotate right amongst them.

That would work except that the picture is not sideways in Gallery. And if I rotate it in Gallery it gets saved sideways...
