I really want to load CM7 on my nook but every time I try it tells me installation aborted. I have 2 different sd cards with cwr. One is clockwork 3.0.5. That was has my restore to stock files when nything goes wrong. The other card has cwr 3.0.1.0. I have downloaded the cm7 zip directly from their website.

Pretty much any zip file tells me installation error except the stock rom zip or the autonooter zip. Why is this happening?

I had a similar problem every time I tried to install an update to my Evo or Nook having downloaded it using Fedora. With Windows or Ubuntu there have been no issues with the downloads.

I know fedora 7 or so had a bug that prevented removable drives from getting unmounted cleanly if you used the GUI to unmount. When I used it, I would have to use the command line to unmount. It has been a while since I have used fedora so I do not know if the bug still exits, but I would hope that they would have fixed it.

I use a Mac. The only file that has EVER worked on my nook is the stock 1.1 zip I have to restore after I mess it up. (and that has happened a few times). I've tried burning several different cwr images onto sd cards. It never works. I always get installation aborted. No errors, no other messages. I guess I'm stuck with rooted stock from autonooter or booting from an sd card. Kinda sucks, was hoping to watch mlb.tv on my nook next weekend while I'm away. I know it works on cm7.

I can try downloading the cm7 file from a windows computer, but I don't have access to one. My work network blocks most of the downloads, so I'll have to get it at someone elses house.

I think I solved my issue. I'm a mac user (and I've read this before) and when macs download a zip file they automatically open them. I was clicking the compress file option.

THAT IS NOT THE SAME!!!!!

I had to change the settings to not let the file be unzipped. For any Mac user, in safari, go to settings, preferences, general, and uncheck the open "safe" files after download checkbox.

CM7 is FINALLY loading up on my nook.

Dude..I feel REAL dumb. I've posted EVERYWHERE, and all along, I should've known my problem.
