Installing a new Android skin/ROM on my S7 (GM930V)

Hi,
I've got a Samsung S7 that I've bought 2nd hand. The phone operator was Verizon, I'm in the UK, so I have pre-installed Verizon settings that I can't remove and are of no use to me.

I've noticed that the battery seems to drain quickly and the touch screen is losing some of its sensitivity. I'm thinking of installing a new OS/ROM/Skin, but am not sure which one to use and whether its worthwhile?

Advice appreciated.
