Installing ROMs

Does flashing ROMs erase the sdcard partition on Nexus 7? I've been worried about that so I haven't installed any ROMs.

Unlocking the phone the first time wipes everything..... You can use an app like helium to backup the apps you need to your computer before hand... Jumping from rom to ROM doesn't touch the SDcard
