Instant lock not working

I have trusted places set up and unlike some others who have posted that it doesn't work, mine seems to work fine.

However, my problem is I cannot lock the screen using instant lock even though I have the "Lock instantly with power key" option toggled on. When I press the power button the screen goes dark but I can go back in and just swipe to unlock. I have fingerprints set up (also working fine) so I expected to request a scan to unlock.

Occasionally I would like to lock my phone even though I'm in a trusted place. Am I misunderstanding the functionality?

So you want the phone to lock in a trusted place? Sounds to me like you just need to take off trusted places..

No, I want trusted places on but thought I would have the option to manually lock when needed.

For example, same some kids are over and they find my phone. They can start pressing buttons and do things that can end up bad. Or any other guest from whom I want to keep away from prying into it if I leave the room.

Basically, I thought there would be an option to overide trusted places and manually lock it.
