Interested in buying Tasker, however I would like to know it does what I would like it for.

I have a galaxy s6 running lollipop and I am a big fan of the OK Google feature but I have a hard time getting it to use my trusted voice to unlock the device. So my question is, will Tasker allow me to set my phone up so when it is charging the lock screen will be disabled so I can send messages and what not without touching the phone?

Tasker will be able to do that. In fact, you'll most likely be able to find the exact profile online to do so.

Tasker is a very powerful automation app, but some functions will require root access to work fully. But even without root, it's extremely useful.
