Interesting icon while on a call

I am on Project Fi and when I make a call I have a do not disturb icon in the notification bar.

Why would that come up. I still get a beep when another call comes in.

Has anyone seen this and what is it for?

im on fi and have seen this too, no clue wht it is for. i still get email notifications when on a phone call, so.... who knows

I wonder what it is. I didn't notice it until 7.1.1

On calls, they now enable DND automatically. I can only assume it is to reduce distractions when you are talking on the phone.

But still get call notifications while on a call. What's does it not disturb?
