Interesting RAM free change

I now have 200 MB RAM free on my NS4G. The only things that changed, that I can see at least, is that App Market updated to 2.3.6 with App rating now live in settings and an update to 1-Tap Clean Cache. I haven't changed any other apps or settings. Was there some king of behind the scenes update to my phone?

I have the stock ROM too.

No text messages right now but lots of emails. Am used to having very little RAM free on my Evo, NOT used to having it on this one. Memory management improved that much on Gingerbread?

I don't even have that many apps installed, and only have 50MB free.

Are you guys seeing performance related issues? reason I'm asking is that Android manages RAM and it doesn't matter how much you have free and stuff as long as performance is there. This is not storage used by your Apps and stuff. This comes out of 512MB dedicated to the running OS and processes and such.

Performance is fantastic for me. Right now I have 216 MB RAM free out of 512 MB RAM. I also have 874 MB free out of 1 gig of the storage area. I don't have a lot of applications on my phone either.
