Interesting read about iPhone 4

in all honesty i think mac is falling off from their high position. they have always been innovators in smart-phone technology and this time all they did was add features (half hearted i must say) from other smart-phone OS's. plus on top of this all AT&T is going to hurt their sales numbers as well since they are putting the tiered data plan into effect for it. it's sad because competition is supposed to create innovation but it seems like the iphone is on par with the current android handsets with 2.1. Once 2.2 is available on all devices (or at least most) then they will jump up above the iphone. hell, when motorola launches their new device in novemeber with the 2 GHz processor, Mac is in trouble. they need to either change their business strategy and release different phones every so often instead of yearly or get to the drawing board and start creating things now up until next march/april and then build the phone.

this will be the new phone for the casual user and also the older generation late 30's and up. it is simple and it is easy to use. I feel Android will eventually take the new generation by storm. i want strong competition though so this is kind of disappointed. if apple wasn't such a threat previously then Android would probably not be what it is today.

Sorry, but your post is a bunch of nonsense. Apple and the iPhone are not in trouble. 8.75 million iPhones were sold last quarter, and that sales pace shows no signs of letting up. Just because you or I have a good handle on specs and appreciate the best-specced phone doesn't mean the market does; the average consumer doesn't give two ****s about whether they have the fastest processor. 2.2 is good, but it still bares all of the glaring flaws of Android. Matias Duarte should help, but it might be a while before we see any of those issues fixed. (and in the meantime, don't expect Apple to sit still)

Its actually funny you mention AT&T; want to know the reason why AT&T has been so 'generous' in their upgrade policy for iPhone 4? They're trying to lock-in customers before the imminent release of a non-AT&T iPhone.

I just read the feature list of the new iphone OS. Def not impressed. Looks like what my android phone has been able to do for a while.

People buy iphones for the name. Some weird sense of cool I guess. It will be a huge seller that is for sure.

i like how at first he bashes Apple, and then the second follow up review hes like, well, it is nice. lol. Maybe he got a check from SJ.

No offense, but did you read them carefully? It was clear the first part was from the 'geek' perspective, while the second was from the consumer. The geek wouldn't be floored with the iPhone, while the consumer will be tickled pink.

yah 600,000 iphone 4's sold on preorder day is really hurting their sales numbers lol
