Interesting Scenario I have

So I picked up my TBolt this afternoon and the store worker activated it for me etc. I got home and I Started playing with it and so far I am loving it. My original droid, which I am coming from, was just thrown on the bed until I went looking for it to go for a run with. I noticed, that the 3g icon was still at the top of the screen there, and as I have noticed before, when you activate a new phone, that normally goes away. So I Try to surf the web with it and it still works! So currently I have a TBolt on 4g, and my old droid on 3g. I go into my verizon wireless account management and it has the TBolt on my number, and doesn't mention the old droid anywhere. So somehow, my old phone still has a data connection, but it isn't on my account at all. I didn't give the guy at the store this phone either, so I now have 2 activated phone. How is this possible? Could this be a bug in the LTE activation process for Verizon?

Thanks all.

Perhaps your TB was activated on another line? Perhaps this is a LTE wrinkle but I have never seen this on 3G. Once you activate (MOVE ESN's) your old phone's ESN has been deactivated.

And that's what I have seen in the past when I have activated a new phone. But my TBolt is def on my line, and the other lines on my family plan have their normal phones...my droid is no where to be found. lol

You must have gotten lucky. I got a TBolt today also and just checked my old phone and the data is turned off. So it is nothing to do with the 4g activation, more likely a screw up by your verizon rep.

Mine did the same thing until I tried to make a voice call from my old dinc then I lost service with it.

I have the same issue and have been trying to figure out why and how. I started a thread in the "How To" forum addressing it:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/68829-upgrade-thunderbolt-droid-still-active.html

With my Droid I can't:
  • Make or receive calls
  • Send or receive texts
With my Droid I can still:
  • Use the browser
  • Send and receive email and Gmail
  • Receive calendar updates
I have double checked and the Wi-fi is OFF on my Droid. The above functionality is via 3G.

What is up with this? It's crazy. How long should I expect this to last?

I did factory reset on my DInc... I can still the bars with a little triangle over it but it makes the phone unusable until it is activated

Is your wifi on? I can use any of my phones still on wifi. Just can't make a call. Well never mind then...I see a couple posts up that the wifi's are off.
