Help! My EVO 4G has slowly been running out of internal memory space. I've got 48 apps on internal storage using a total of about 150MB of internal space. That's after using App 2 SD to move every movable app to the SD card. It seems like there has got to be some large files (or lots of smaller files) that are not needed...maybe old apk files, data files, email messages, something.

I looked around with ASTRO but I didn't want to delete anything for fear of bricking my phone. I am not rooted and I don't want to root. I also really, really don't want to restore my phone to its factory defaults and start over with everything. Can anyone give me tips on where to look? Thank you - I really appreciate the help.

Download History Eraser. It'll clean out your browsing history, app cache, etc. That should open up a lot of memory. Hope this helps.

EDIT:/ Also how many txts do you have saved, they can take up a lot of room as well. History Eraser can take care of that too.

Text email are the ussual culprits if u don't have many apps as candroid 90 pointed out history eraser should fix it. If that does not do the job u are looking at a factory reset.

I just ran History Cleaner - it only freed up about 1MB. Factory reset is really the next option? Seems like overkill.

That's the next option if you only got a few apps on the phone and ran history eraser then factory reset is the next option. It Sounds like something is taking up more space then it should and the only way to fix it is a factory reset. Sorry I know it sucks but think of this way u won't get the alerts any more

If you've imported your Facebook contacts, how many Facebook friends do you have? Your contacts data file can get huge if you have a lot of contacts complete with Facebook data associated with them. You might also be able to delete some of the apps you never use anymore to free of space. Take a look at your list and ask yourself if you really actually use the ones you see.

good call that kill your memory just like that.

You should go to Settings--->Applications-->Manage Applications, select the "All" tab press menu and select "Sort by Size" and see what apps you have utilizing the most memory and "clear data" on those apps. That should help.

1. change your sync settings in Gmail and Mail to lower the days of old emails being synced to 3 days or less.
2. empty the Gmail and Mail Trash.
3. delete all old Texts.
4. clear cache of apps.
5. delete the apps you don't really use.
6. use history cleaner per above.
7. restart.

good luck.

My corporate email is hogging my storage. I have limited my sync days to 3, cleared out the trash and still have 205MB being used. I even gutted my gmail and old texts. What's confusing me is that it showed 205MB before I started reducing the days and deleting the trash and nothing has changed. Gmail won't download new messages because my memory is too low.
