Internal Phone Storage 2.5 gb

Is 2.5 gb for the internal storage right? I thought it was supposed to be 8 gb . I know actual formatted capacity differs but 2.5 seems a little low.

That's just for apps.

In settings is there an internal storage as well?
My Atrix is similar. 16GB and we get 2-3GBs for apps and 11 for media.

if it is for preloaded crap verizon should be open for a class action lawsuit!!! The phone is advertised with 8GB, and if it only shows 2GB because if the BLOATWARE they force on us, then LOCK into the phone thats BS!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean we all know this trick though. Advertise 8GB which indeed there is 8GB just we are only able to use 2.5GB of it.

True, but why all the bloat? What NEW apps are in the Bolt that weren't on the DInc? (I'd answer that myself, but our IT guys have our phones)

I don't have the phone yet, but judging from some youtube vids.. doesn't it come with Rock Band, and some golf game? Those alone seem like pretty big files..

Yeah, it does have Rock Band and I think "Let's Golf 2".

The Evo only has 1 GB of internal storage, and we only get about 300 MB space for apps. Clearly they couldn't have put that much bloatware on the phone to use up 6 GB. My guess is that it's just partitioned that way that only 2.5 GB are available for apps?

I am on the phone with VZW right now, and they callled HTC with me on the phone, and the HTC rep said that its prob using the rest for the OS usage....lol

REALLY??? 6GB to run the OS????????

Also, does anyone notice that there is NO Listing for the 768MB for the OS to run on?

There is something VERY strange with the way this phone runs.
