I live in the states and will be traveling to Spain in June with my Sprint S3. Here is my plan...I want to only use wifi with my phone and nothing else while I'm there. HOWEVER, I want to make sure I will be not be charged for any international charges of any kind. I don't want any incoming/outgoing calls while I'm there, no incoming/outgoing text and I don't want any data usage either. ONLY WIFI.

I do however want to be able to use my phone normally prior to boarding my international flight, shut all services off, then turn them back on upon returning to the US.

I know I can simply turn it to airplane mode while I'm there but don't want to risk accidentally turning it on/off.

Any thoughts on how I should go about my issue?

Thanks.

Nowhere in Europe that I'm aware of uses the CDMA protocol that Sprint (and Verizon) use. Europe standardized on GSM many years ago. Your Sprint phone simply won't be able to receive any calls, because no cell phone system will send it a signal it can use.
