I'm not sure if this should be here or elsewhere! My husband and I both have Nexus 4 phones. If we try to use them in the house, via our BT wifi we keep being told that we are not connected to the internet and wifi is turned off. I check 'settings' and am connected to my home router and wifi is on. This happens when we're within a few feet of our router and modem. If I switch off wifi and use O2 (my provider) everything is fine. Of course, the more I use O2 the more money it costs. My husband is with Orange and has the exact same experience. Why on earth is it so difficult to use my home wifi?? It's driving us mad. Thanks for any help...

Does your home router need a password to connect to it? If so, are you putting in the correct password?

The phone should "just connect" to a wifi signal (with a password if needed) as long as wifi is on.

See Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Connection Problems for more assistance.

I read about the wifi issue with Lollipop somewhere.
The solution was to 'forget' the network and then connect to it again. Have you tried this already ?

Thanks for the help. I don't yet have Lollipop but haven't tried 'forgetting' I'll do that. Interestingly, we have a Nexus 7 and that works fine in the same situation. The Nexus 7 doesn't have a sim as I only use it on wifi at home or when I'm away on holiday and have access to free wifi!. Also my desktop works via the same router. We don't have them all on at the same time obviously, as that would cause another problem!

Used to happen with me 50% of the times. My solution to this was switching on and off aeroplane mode which enabled WiFi connection each time.

But then I realised that I was disabling mobile network and enabling WiFi very very quickly (through the buttons on a widget)

I didn't know what happened recently or maybe I have slowed down while performing the above process, I don't see this issue as frequent as before. But I face it very rarely.

I think Nexus has some kind of bug.
Hope that else.

How do you remove a network in lollipop? I only have the option to connect to a network with a strong signal.
