Have just joined.
Have an OG Droid on stock FRG83G. About the only significant customization I've done (apart from install apps) is switch to ADW Launcher.
I'm here because, while I love the idea of the Droid..., it's become too much like having a little bit of Windows in my pocket. ADW has helped w/ that a little bit..., but not much (not really it's job!). The overall user experience just plain sucks..., mainly owing to lack of responsiveness, though over time..., simple bugginess has started to become an issue (e.g., the G+ app activating its home screen all by itself..., usually apparent upon wake from sleep.)
So..., perhaps it's time for bigger-better-more, e.g., a DX2 (more on why this one later).
Have played w/ a couple of 2.3 based phones (which also tend to be later models w/ faster HW), and have found the experience to be quite good..., addressing a lot of the issues I've had w/ the OGD on 2.2.
BUT!!!!
Before I upgrade, what have I got to lose (apart from some time) by having a little fun w/ my OGD w/ an attempt to upgrade to 2.3?
So..., that's why I'm here.

- Upgrade is relatively cheap ($119).
- I don't care about 4G.
- I gotta have the cradle..., gotta.
- It's one of the android devices whose performance AS A PHONE seems to be reviewed well.
..., I will really miss the camera button though...
