Just gotta say that I got the Invisible Shield installed at Best Buy and it's amazing. I had the old one that came from VZW, thick..bulky and you could see the edges of it. It LOOKED like a screen protector.
I do have to say that it is really expensive at 20 bucks for just one and 8 bucks to have Best Buy install (in minutes)..BUT>
You can hardly tell it's there, the phone works better to touch and is much more responsive and honestly...something about the slight gloss of the shield or something, I dunno, but it seems like the colors are brighter.
I wasn't expecting to be this happy with it.

I didn't like mine. It fits great. But I didn't like how it felt. As in, my finger didn't slide as smoothly across the screen. Also, you don't really need a screen protector with the X anyway. I took mine off.

I had one, spent 20. Felt like goo. Didn't like it at all. The protection felt good though. I use gorilla glass. One things for sure, your screen is protected!

I also found the Invisible Shield a bit grippy. I swapped it for a Steinhall anti fingerprint, which has a lot of glare. I bought two of each so I may swap again.

I almost got that one for 20 but I changed my mind at the last minute and jsut went with the 3pk from the Verizon store and I gota say I have been very happy. As long as you fit it properly it does the job. I see decently in the sun, I can barely tell I have it on and they last a while. Capacitive actions like swype and normal swiping and tapping have never been an issue., So Best Buy charges 8 bucks to install a screen protector? That doesn't surprise me.

@droidxixis - Why do you say the X doesnt need a screen protector?

it doesn't its gorilla glass very durable I've had my X since day one the screen is amazing the body is scratched and dented from landing on concrete doing flIps and not a scratch on the screen.

Really? The screen won't get scratched without a screen protector?

d.a.m.n. then I have been getting ripped off by my verizon store cuz they are always saying make sure you have your screen protectors on. I shouldnt be surprised.
My X's screen has seen the outside world only as long as it took to take off the stock sticky cover and replace it with the verizon one. Thats amazing if you dont need it on the X. Wish I knew that sooner cuz alot of us have referenced people to go out and buy them, lol I guess the cloth you use to clear grime would be a key factor in scratch prevention as well.

I've never had a screen protector on my Droid X or my wife's Droid 2 since we got them both in Aug'10 & both screens are still flawless. She keeps hers in her purse with all kinds of crap. Screen protectors don't do anything when your phone has Gorilla Glass, unless it is a Anti-glare or Anti-Fingerprint one, but I have never liked how those feel & reduce the visibility vs. a screen without one.

Check out some of the scratch tests on YouTube for Gorilla Glass. Pretty amazing stuff Corning invented, it should come standard on every phone.

As soon as my current(last one) protector is past its prime I will do the same. Kinda nervous about that cuz my phone is in and out of my pocket all day and night.

I am skeptical about NOT having a screen protector. I have 2 deep scratches on my current protector when I forgot that both my keychain and my phone were in my pocket and I pulled out the keys. I assumed the scratches would have been on the glass had I not had a protector....

Watch the YouTube videos on scratch tests of Gorilla Glass. They aren't necessary.

I'm not trying to sway anyone away from using a protector. Get them if they make you sleep better at night. I'm just trying to pass on info because I hear a lot of people saying their sales rep made it seem like they HAD to buy one which is total BS.

My screen protector was starting to fall apart, and after reading this thread, I decided to be brave and just remove it. I couldn't believe the difference-was like I bought a whole new phone. I don't know why I didn't do this before. I can actually SEE my screen, and it really is holding up amazingly well even getting thrown into my purse. I'm impressed, and sort of mad at myself for not doing this before.

As far as InvisibleShield goes, I used to have one on my BB Bold, and if I had to have a non-cheapie screen protector, that's definitely the one I'd pick. I've decided though, Gorilla Glass>all. Corning has gained a fan!

Im assuming once we remove our screen protectors (that I now believe I should be refunded for), we can use a cloth similar to the one used for eyeglasses to wipe it down? Or just my t-shirt. The protector I have now is for glare. The way your making it sound I can use a brick to wipe it if I wanted, lol

Yea, I took my screen protector off and the phone looks so much nicer now!

I was a huge fan of the wet application screen protectors. I covered several BB's as well as 2 X's...unfortunately moisture got in between the screen and body and caused the X to short out.
Granted, I have had more success than failure but one is enough.
I have gone to the dry apply, matte finish protectors. Great product and smooth for finger scrolling (not rubbery like some wet app protectors).

Lol! I wouldn't use a brick, but any cloth works just fine for me.

One of my employees today showed me that his gf dropped her X on her shifter while driving so it wasnt from a great distance but hit about an inch up off the right corner on the side and gave her screen a full crack straight to the other side. Said shes gona claim her insurance and get a new one. It was an ugly looking crack. I asked him when she got it and he said in January(same store as I did) which is around when I got mine. I did go to the gorilla glass website earlier at work and loved seeing all the content.

I like Ghost Armor. It's very similar to Invisible Shield and is sold/installed at mall kiosks. More expensive, though at $45 for the full-body set (including installation).
