Hear me out before I get kick off the bus. I've been totally infactcuated in evo news ever since it was anncounced back a ctia. I love my EVO even though it has a small defect ( a pit on the edge of the glass screen) waiting on bestbuy to get some in this week for a replacement. I know most folks here EVOs are probably perfect, but this has made me question the quality of HTC because my old sprint mougal had 2 dead pixels that I just dealt with. But, having seen this apple video of the manufacter process of the iphone 4 I'm seriously considering canceling my evo before the 30 period is up.

It just looks like a higher quality product overall. Hopefully when my bb gets my replacement evo in soon and I'll feel better, but right now this iphone is making me question my decision.
You, my friend, have fallen victim to Apple's brilliant marketing (as most consumers have). Better marketing does not a equal better product. Did you watch the video for the iPad? Amazing advertising, useless product.
I mean, they're explaining a simple concept such as anti-aliasing to the masses and to them is all new, wow! To anyone slightly tech-savvy, that is common sense and given with higher-resolution. However, when taking into consideration the bottom line, the final yield is almost insignificant to the naked eye due to the small display. Download Aldiko on your EVO and load a book. That's as sharp as it's going to get. No matter how high the resolution is.
I loved when Jobs said that IPS is better than OLED. Not only is that absurd, but that is false in every component of comparison. Color accuracy and vibrancy, contrast (OLED yields the highest contrast possible on a display as black pixels are actually turned off), viewing angle, clarity, and power consumption are all better on OLED displays. The single component that OLED loses out on is manufacturing costs, which is most likely the reason most manufacturers haven't adopted it.
Folders, wow. Once again, something as ancient as the pyramids in the smartphone world. And I'll tell you one thing, it's going to get really annoying having the OS determine the name of the folder for you. What if you have 3 games and 1 eBook reader in that folder. The OS will assume to call it Games (most likely) and maybe, I don't know, you want to call it Favorites. You're out of luck! Give power to the people!
Multi-tasking. Not much to say there but... yawn! Windows Mobile has it, Android has it, WebOS has it, iOS 4 is only getting it now. Personally, I'd rather hold a button to get it than having to double-tap it. Only difference I see there between that an my Android. (Have to say this, WebOS has perfected multi-tasking and not even Apple can compete).
Carrier. Sure, Sprint is as ginormous as AT&T is. But what most people don't understand is that, especially in this case, that is a good thing. Sprint has no competition in the newest data technology at the moment (and that is huge for the market's momentum) and has the best value for the price out there bar none. And I'm not even going to get into the ridiculous new data plans that AT&T adopted.
And finally, video conferencing, or, "OPEN" video conferencing as Apple called it. So "OPEN" that you are limited to iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 conferencing only and Wi-Fi only. And BTW, that front-facing camera is only VGA (640x489) compared to our 1.3MP. Anyone using Skype on their desktop has the ability to see me as I talk to them, that's something they don't have and that's huge!
All in all, mediocre features, encased in glass that is 30x stronger than plastic. Ooohhh...
