iPhone 4 vs. EVO/Incredible/X/Captivate discussion (Keep it civil!)

I experienced none of those things and I got mine 2 days before release

I have not had a single issue besides battery life with my Incredible, I got it a little over 3 weeks ago. As for the battery issue, it's not really that bad now that I use bump charging. I will still be picking up a larger battery pretty soon.

Did any update for the DINC fix the landscaping issue where when it was horizontal and you tried sending a text, you couldnt because the send button was out of the screen?

Eh there are issues with any phone right off the first batch. Granted it IS ATT but look at the INC when it first came out. App Bugs, call bugs, screen touch issues when the phone was being touched, messaging bugs, reception issues when the phone was touched at certain points as well. It all turned my interest away from the phone pretty quick.

I got mine on release day (pre-order). I never had any of those problems, either. In fact, I never had one issue, except for the signal bars showing lower reception than I was actually getting.

Strange, my DINC doesn't have this problem.

It may or may not have been a fluke on the first batches but I do recall some people having that problem where when you turned the phone on its side and tried to send a text, the button appeared to be out of the screen so you couldn't send it. They must have fixed it then.

I haven't seen this issue. I'm using Handcent right now so can't check the stock app, but my Send button is visible.

FWIW, I HAVE seen an issue where the application requires you to press the Menu button to see the option to send - if that helps.

Evidently I missed all the websites that covered those issues before I bought the DINC...

Which is in itself incredible considering how much pre purchase research I did lol.

The history of apple is one of screwing over their partners. To their end users they are very good. To their partners they, make Lord Vader look like Yoda.

Over and over again Apple has “won” the underdog fight only to piss off the very people who got them there and then they fall into ruin.

Anyone remember Mac clones? Apple’s three year licensing deal to third party manufacturers that literally saved the company from ruin. After the three years were up and Apple was relevant again… "Sorry guys, we’re not renewing your deal."

Then there’s the Apple Stores that have literally wiped the independent Apple dealer off the face of the map. I know there are still a few independents out there, but look at how many class action lawsuits there are against apple for unfair business practices with regard to the Apple Stores.

And let’s not forget the $150 million investment from Microsoft in 1997 that literally kept the company from bankruptcy.

The old saying goes; those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Apple once again on a high, they’re ready to blow it.

Re: iPhone 4 Vs. HTC EVO 4G

Wow that was probably the fairest comparison I have ever seen.
