iPhone fast charge is a joke

I don't know why anyone would pay $930 for the 256GB iPhone 8 Plus when they could get a fully-loaded Note 8 for the same price.

The mantra for Apple that "It just works" is tired and needs to die. My Note 8 "just works" right out of the box, so...yeah.

lol my note doesn't. Have had to reset it three times because the updates always break something that i can't fix without a complete wipe. I love this phone but this is irritating.

This is not to start a battle. I own an S8 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus. I'm not going to argue about the fast charge of an Android over an iPhone. Hands down my S8 Plus will charge twice as fast as my iPhone 8 Plus. What I will state is that Apple has never made a claim that their fast charge is as quick or quicker than any Android.

As for crappy screens we are all entitled to our opinions and I'll respect yours. As I hope you will mine. I find both the android and iPhone screens both high quality. The android screen is bright and very saturated which looks really good when defining colors. I find the iPhone to be more natural looking. Easier on the eyes.

I use both android and iPhone OS for specific reasons. I like Android for the availability of apps. I like iOS for its ease of use and cross platform compatibility. Both my android and iphone are of the highest quality. Thanks!
Cross platform? IPhone must have greatly changed last time i owned one, that wasn't the case

When I see bashing threads like this, it shows insecurities. Similar to social media memes that triggers people when it was not directed at them. People act like Apple did something bad to them or their family. I just don't understand. Just be happy with what you purchased and stop justifying it by bashing another brand.

Spot on. Don't like iPhone - don't buy one. Millions of people do and love them and also feel that both the hardware and software is superior. I've had plenty iPhone's but had more Androids and Windows phones too but ultimately like Android best overall. I love features on all ecosytems and don't feel like I have to speak out and belittle the other. I very much doubt Apple cares about their haters opinions, in fact it's rare they care about their fans opinions but they'll carry on successfully either way

That fast charger may be the least of their problems.
I've seen they had battery swelling problems but it looks like they are having some big problems now. Apple iPhone 8 Undergoes Battery Malfunction; Starts Hissing Smoke, Cracking Sounds With Back Completely Destroyed

There have been a few reports of battery swelling but the way it is designed the back of the phone popped open which I guess keeps the battery from bursting.

Anyway, why isn't the media all over this like it was when the Note 7 started having issues?

How is it ridiculous? I use both iOS and Android devices. I have first hand experience using them the same way.
.....and in YOJR experience, iPhones last longer than non iPhones..... rediculous generalisation to make! I've owned non iPhones that have lasted longer than any iPhone I know of! That also is a rediculous statement to make as it proves nothing!

Yup! From my experience because I've actually used them both for years and that's all that matters to me.

Because phones haven't caught on fire. When iPhone 8s starting doing that you might have a valid point.

Well, this IS a Note 8 forum.

The iPhone love is over on iMore.

Right. Title of the thread should be "iPhone is a joke"

Zing.

But really, I see why people like them. Like my spousal unit. She would never have anything else. I understand, to a point. Android and Samsung phones in particular, are not SO technically superior for the AVERAGE user to be enticing for the "fruit brainwashed".

I appreciate Samsung pushing the envelope, and creating the phablet to give us these giant screens, and beautiful screens as well. I still stand by my previous statements that the iPhone 4 (and 4s) were the best, and I hope that Apple can eventually get back to that level.

I'm Android (and Samsung) for now. The future is looking bright for smartphones. Looking forward to the market and how it shifts over the next 5 years. It will be interesting.

I started with android then came to Apple. Now I have the ip8 and the galaxy s8. I love my iPhone and gravitate to it more than the s8. The s8 has a nicer screen but I think that is about it.

I have been “fast” charging, since my iPhone 6 Plus, with an iPad charger. I bought a few of those charging blocks and that is all I use throughout my house, that and my wireless charger now. My ip8 charges faster than any iPhone I have ever had. I haven’t really noticed the galaxy s8 charging all that fast. Seems comparable to me.

All I know is all the Apple product I have ever sold have brought me more cash than any Android i sold. Also I have heard people call Apple junk but after owning several Apple products I couldn’t disagree more. They work well and if there is a problem Apple stands behind their product.

To each their own.

"if there is a problem Apple stands behind their product."

....sorry, not always. Google - antennagate, bendgate etc etc.

Samsung stood behind the note 7 & went above & beyond too.

But I agree - to each their own.

It is when you look at the value compared to the Note 8 or s8. Especially iPhone X.

Note yes is overpriced as well at $930 but still provides more overall value.

Kind of depends what you mean by value. In my opinion the Iphone 8 plus will be worth much more in two years than the note 8 or the s8. Apple seems to hold value much better, there is value in that. I have both, they both are great devices in their own way. In many ways samsung wouldn't be where they are without apple and vice versa.

I like both android and ios. Some of my apps I use for audits are just better on iphone. I have an LGG6 and iphone 8 plus. Both are awesome.

I have also owned many of both. I always get better resale out of Apple. Got a brand new S8 for $420 in July, unfortunately they just don't hold value like iPhones do. Bought a used LG G6, had it a month and lost $100 on it.
I always go back to Apple for the ecosystem. I'm over the customization as it doesn't matter to me how I get to the App that looks the same once it's open. But the Note is a beautiful phone and there's a good chance I will own one when the specials hit.
