So I've searched everywhere and tried all the solutions, I still cannot receive messages from friends who have an iPhone. This morning I sold my iPhone and then went and bought a Galaxy S4. Everything works perfect besides any friends who have iphones, it still tries to send as an imessage. Idk what to do and this is annoying as hell, as I've called at&t and apple and they don't offer any support. I restored my phone my phone before selling it but I think what may be the problem is that I put my sim card back in after the restore to call the buyer. How can I fix this?

Try telling them to switch your # from their iPhone and just place it under # and not "iphone". See what im trying to say? I know its a little confusing.

I have tried that as well and it didn't work. Literally seems like I have tried all options and still can't recieve messages from people with iPhone until 5-10 mins later when the iMessage turns to SMS.

You need to go to your Apple account online and remove your iPhone from the account, if you don't do it, every time an iPhone user sends you a message it will keep trying to send it via imessage.

When I went to my apple account online the phone wasn't even there under services/products.

Is this where you went, My apple ID? If yes, then go to Manage your I'd and then check that you don't have you're phone number listed there.

Correct my phone # was listed but i removed it. The issue is still there.

Then, if you did that today, I think you need to give their servers a chance to refresh, at this point you don't have too much to lose, just wait, and try tomorrow and see what happens, good luck.

Thanks. Yea i'll wait it out till tomorrow, restart my S4 in the morning. And if no luck, I'll have to change my # I guess.
