I have been a iPhone user primarily forever. I am bored with them so ordered the Pixel 10Pro. Just wondering if there are others here that have done the same and if so let's unite! I won't have my Pixel 10Pro Xl until Tuesday but can't wait to give it a good honest trial run to see if I can fully leave the Apple eco!

For the peeps that use both platforms do you transfer your sim back and forth? Obviously here in the states iMessage is huge. RCS helps bridge that gap now.
I use separate SIMs for each. I'm lucky that I have accumulated free line giveaways from T-Mobile over the years.

Basically, I pay for 3 lines but have 8 lines due to free line promotions over the years. One each for myself, my wife, and my son, and the rest of the 5 SIMs are in the secondary phones.

iPhone 16 Pro Max (main daily driver) and the remaining 5 SIMs in iPhone 16 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Z Fold 7, S25 Edge, and OnePlus 13.

You must be my twin lost brother 😭

I swapped over from my iphone after shutting imessage and facetime. Hours after switching I still was not receiving messages. I just dont understand how in 2025 we can't figure this out. This pixel is an awesome phone but definitely cannot go without messaging. Anyone else have this issue??

It's probably not the Pixel phone's fault. Contact your carrier and ask them why you are not receiving text messages. Also ask them to make sure your texting history ports over to your new phone. They probably have to flip a switch on their end and all will be back to normal with texting.

Sounds good I will contact them for sure as I really enjoy the phone.

I'm on a 12 mini. Making the move. Just a general question how do I get my iPhone data to the phone? Is that something they handle at the store?

Apple has a page for deregistering iMessage HERE....

I have used both for over 15 years. As well as Palm OS, SymbianOS, Blackberry, windows mobile etc et al along the way.

You'll love the pixel.

I always wonder what Apple would be like these days if Jobs was till around. They aren't really going anywhere and definitely aren't the innovators they once were. And I say this owning both a Macbook and Mac Studio aside from my Pixel.

For those that have both phones, how does the phone call and RCS/SMS spam filtering work for iOS 26 (iPhone) compared to Android 16 (Pixel 10)?

Asking as phone call/voicemail and RCS/SMS spam has been out of control for some time, and I'd like to find a mobile OS (operating system) that can natively handle and control this problem.

Below are details for what I've experienced/found out so far.

Details

I see that iOS 26 has a "Screen unknown calls" feature. I'm still using iOS 18.7, and phone and iMessage, RCS/SMS calls and texts during the workday are so frequent it is a real annoyance to say the least.

Samsung S25 Ultra is my Android device, which is currently on Wi-Fi only as a mini-tablet. One UI 8 has a "Caller ID and spam protection", and from memory with older Samsung phones and One UIs, it was a solution from Hiya.

I have not yet switched over the the S25 Ultra as my one and only mobile line to see if phone call/voicemail spam (vishing) feature is from Hiya or another vendor. Nothing much keeping me from switching to Android now that RCS is available, minus the family members who may want to use FaceTime, which is infrequent.

I remember from the Pixel 5 era that phone call and SMS spam filtering worked quite well.

I just found https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/samsung-galaxy/one-ui-8-5-automatic-call-screen-samsung-phones so this may be a potential native OS (or deeply integrated Google capabilities and features into One UI.
